SENATE CANDIDATE BOB THOMAS, LD 15, RESPONDS TO SB1070 RULING
U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton issued a preliminary injunction this morning preventing several sections of Arizona's new immigration law from becoming law, until the courts have a chance to hear the full case. Bob Thomas, candidate for Arizona Senate, LD15, running unopposed in the Primary, voiced his opposition to the Judge’s ruling. For more information on Thomas, please visit his website: http://www.votebobthomas.org/ To set an interview, please contact 602 404 8018.
It seems that the only thing the Obama Administration is willing to do is to spend our money suing Arizona citizens, Thomas remarked. Rather than fulfill their duty to our citizens to protect us from foreign oppression, the Federal government is coming after us.
Securing the border must be the first priority. When Mexican cartel members come across the border into Phoenix to ambush Phoenix citizens and Police officers and come into our state to murder ranchers, we are way past the time to talk. It’s time to act. The President, and others of his ilk, have evidently forgotten that. I have not, Thomas concluded.
Thomas received early recognition in this race when he was interviewed on CBS5, KTVK TV 3, WB and KAET TVs HORIZONTE regarding Seattle’s Boycott of Arizona. Thomas is the owner of a heavy equipment company which does a lot of business through the Port of Seattle, millions of dollars annually in Port fees. If they are going to boycott us, I will find another port that does not boycott Arizona, Thomas told the reporters. Somewhere like Houston or New Orleans. Boycotts work both ways.
There is no incumbent in either the House or the Senate in LD15 this year as all termed out.
To view the actual ruling go here: http://www.azd.uscourts.gov/azd/courtinfo.nsf/983700DFEE44B56B0725776E005D6CCB/$file/10-1413-87.pdf?openelement

Arizona Citizens Defense League - Candidate Questionnaire Responses
This is an election year. The primaries are on August 24th (early voting starts July 29th), and the general election is on November 2nd. YOUR vote is critical in determining how the Arizona legislature will look in 2011. If you want to see more laws passed that restore and protect your freedoms, like Constitutional Carry, not voting is not an option.
In July we sent a questionnaire to every known candidate for the Arizona state legislature. The questionnaire contained the following 5 questions, which we asked the candidates to answer either Yes or No.
- Law-abiding citizens have the right to carry a weapon, with or without a government issued permit, in any place that they have a right to be.
- Article 2, Section 26 of the Arizona Constitution means what it says. Our right to bear arms must not be subject to local laws.
- Trained, law-abiding adult citizens have the right to carry their weapons onto the grounds of schools, colleges and universities in order to be able to protect themselves and others from criminals.
- Law-abiding citizens have the right to defend themselves at any time or in any place they have a right to be.
- Laws that impair the right of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves should be repealed.
We explained that we feel that no one should need to beg to exercise a constitutionally protected right, and that these issues need no further debate. They could expand their answers with comments if they so desired. However, what we perceive as a Yes, but answer would be treated as a No when we shared their response. An unreturned questionnaire would result in the answers to all questions to be considered as No.
Candidate responses are reproduced here: http://www.azcdl.org/2010Candidates2a.pdf.
If you do not see a candidates name, and they were not a legislator in 2010, you may assume we did not receive a response from them and that their answer to all the questions was No!
Candidates who were legislators in the 2010 session were not required to respond to our survey since we have their voting record on bills we considered important: http://www.azcdl.org/html/voting_records.html.
Ratings and endorsements for candidates for Arizona statewide offices can be found at the AzCDL Political Action Committee (PAC) web site: http://azcdlpac.com/endorsement.html.

NRA POLITICAL VICTORY FUND ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF ROBERT (BOB) THOMAS
The National Rifle Association (NRA) Political Victory Fund announced that they have endorsed Bob Thomas, Republican candidate for Senate, Legislative District 15. For additional information about Bob Thomas, please visit his website, http://www.votebobthomas.org/
This endorsement is based on Mr. Thomas’ positive responses to the NRA _ PVF candidate questionnaire and his strong support of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Matthew Dogali, NRA Arizona State Liaison, explained.
I am humbled and honored to receive this endorsement from the NRA, Thomas remarked. I intend to continue to be a strong supporter of their goals.
Dismayed by the lack of marksmanship shown by their troops, Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate formed the National Rifle Association in 1871. The primary goal of the association was to promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis, according to a magazine editorial written by Church. Today, there are more than 10,000 NRA-certified police and security firearms instructors. Basic hunter education courses are now held in 43 states and three Canadian provinces, involving an estimated 40,000 young hunters. For more information, please visit http://www.nra.org/.

Valley Protective Services Endorses Bob Thomas for LD15 Senate
Robert (Bob) Thomas is currently running for Senate in Legislative District 15. Mr. Thomas has a long history in the Phoenix area for supporting law enforcement and private business. Both areas are of vital concern to Valley Protective Services, as they should be to each and every citizen. His background as a business owner will be invaluable. If each and every holder of political office had some of the experience of managing a limited budget and learning to operate within that budget, we wouldn’t be facing the economic crisis we see today.
Over and over I hear the majority of the incumbent’s, including Mr. Thomas’ opponent stating the case to raise taxes to support education and public safety, yet see millions squandered on new police airplanes and bureaucratic red tape in our public schools. Tax and spend seems to be the rule of the day. I believe that we do need a change, and that Mr. Thomas is the kind of change that I’m excited about.
I am enthusiastically endorsing Mr. Thomas’ campaign for State Senate Legislative District 15.

As Ive said, Ive been behind in posting my interviews on SA, and with posting the interview with Bob Thomas, I thought Id post Paul Yoders too since theyre both from LD 15. Again, I wish these Republicans running in the heavily Democrat LD 15 a lot of luck in defeating the liberals coming out of this district.
